For many of us, the stories of Middle-Earth have become a means of escape from a world that seems not to make sense at times into one where Good prevails, often not through the deeds of the mighty but through the works of small, insignificant, ordinary people.
And when we return from this world, we can bring a piece of this story home – and it transforms the way we see our own world as well.

So today we raise our glasses (goblets, cups, drinking horns…) to the one who brought us these stories – to the Professor!
